Facebook App Center launches in the UK

Now UK fans can get their hands on the latest trending apps.
The US has had its Facebook App Center since May, but now Brits can rejoice as the App Center (not App Centre) has hit the UK.
The new App Center looks like genuine fun for all those that spend most of their time on Facebook. It provides a place to discover Facebook-enabled apps for both desktop systems and mobile devices.
The new apps are split into Web and Mobile options and broken into categories such as Games, Music, News and Sports. There is also a feed of what apps your Facebook Friends are using or have liked, so you can get in on the game as well.
The idea is to continue the Facebook “ecosystem” utilising services, tools and games that use Facebook to login users. So the Spotify app will enable you to login using your now seemingly ubiquitous Facebook account. While this could seem a little insidious to some, to others it will be a simplification of accessing lots of different services using one simple log-in. If you’re going to log into the service anyway, surely using one makes a lot more sense?
With features such as being able to send apps directly to your mobile device, the new service seems well designed and easy to use. If you’re looking for some multiplayer fun this makes it quick and easy to get everyone on board.
With big-name apps like Draw Something, Netflix and Spotify all getting in on the act it won’t be long before you start seeing your news feed filling up with Bob played Draw Something.
