Facebook app update available now for iPhone, iPad and Android
Facebookers on both sides of the Android and Apple iOS divide should be checking their smartphones and tablets devices for updates today.

Facebook goes from strength to strength, in an app sense
The mobile Facebook app has received a major injection of features and speed. The biggest update is to found for iPad and iPhone. The Facebook iOS app has had a complete overhaul resulting in a doubling of speed when launching the app and scrolling the news feed, at least according to Facebook.
The update also means news feed posts and notifications are loaded automatically as the app starts, along with a banner notification appearing instantly on status updates. It also sounds like photo viewing has been improved with images cached so they load instantly when tapped.
Over on the Android side, the new Facebook app offers a faster, more streamlined photo uploading process. Instead of having to post photos one by one, it’s now possible to multi-select a batch of available images and upload them in one. It’s still possible to individually tag people in each photo and add captions as you go.
Another useful changes is the ability to add and edit events from within the Android app, while Facebook Messaging gets an update with Emoji characters and even photographs. So expect chats to look a lot messier.
Android users can grab the Facebook app from Google Play
Apple iPhone and iPad users can pick up the new Facebook app from iTunes
