You might not know it but Microsoft is already running inside many cars and it has high hopes of expanding even further.

The Microsoft Connected Car team, which develops its Embedded Automotive platform, is looking to hire talent to help integrate such Microsoft technologies as Kinect, Bing search, Windows Phone 8 and more into the car environment.

As integrated digital systems become more advanced in cars expect to see your favourite mobile OS, or similar, appearing as optional extras next time you buy a new car.

Microsoft has already released a concept car called Project Detroit that re-imagined the American classic Ford Mustang, with integrated Xbox 360, Kinect, Windows 8 and Windows Phone features.
