NASA’s Mars programme is going from strength to strength following the successful landing of its Mars Curiosity rover.

After the first few grainy black and white images and a super-long-range, over-the-air remote update we’ve been treated to something pretty special – a high definition 360-degree panorama from the surface of Mars.

Coming on like a Google Mars, the virtual-reality like view gives you a taste of what Curiosity is currently experiencing and it’s not a world away from Manchester in the 1970s. Head over to 360 Cities to see a range of panoramas and keep a look out for those little green men.
