Samsung Galaxy S3 teaser video revealed

Samsung are still being sheepish on details but aren’t woolly with the teasers for The Next Galaxy.

Samsung spent most of Monday teasing the technology world with a countdown webpage promising to reveal details on a new product, which we all hoped would be the brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 Android smartphone. What did the world get? A sheep pun.

The mystery first surfaced with Samsung Mobile tweeting “Destination: tgeltaayehxnx” an anagram for The Next Galaxy. If you hopped over to the website www.thenextgalaxy.com you were greeted by a timer counting down to 12pm GMT on Monday 23 April.

Once that countdown hit zero it revealed a cryptic video involving interstellar imagery, music from Mass Effect 2 and messages like “Your view of the world grows ever wider”. And the pay-off? Not a tantalising glimpse of The Next Galaxy but an invitation to “stand out from everyone else” over a herd of sheep (presumably intended to represent iPhone owners).

The smart money is still on the Samsung Galaxy S3 specification including an AMOLED 4.7-inch, 720p display, quad-core processor, 1GB of memory, 8MP camera, Android 4.0 and NFC technology. We’ll find out for sure when the device is finally revealed at the Samsung Unpacked event on 3 May.
