Samsung Series 9 900X4C review
The new Series 9 range from Samsung is superb and the 900X4C notebook is one of the highlights.
It may not be the cheapest, but it is one that you should absolutely look at if you want top quality and a machine that’s both elegant, lightweight and built to last.
The 15-inch screen is rich, colourful and bright enough to see in broad daylight – but much more important is the fact that at 1600×900 pixels crammed into just 15-inches its one of the sharpest and crispest you’ll ever see.
Surrounding the screen is a solid aluminium build with a professional keyboard and large glossy mousepad.
The crowning glory of the Series 9 is its sweeping design, which is both ultra thin and distinctive enough to differentiate it from the masses with its swirling corners and curved edges.
Performance, too, is top drawer. An Intel Core i7 processor rips through desktop tasks ably accompanied by a 256GB solid state drive for fast start up and data access. It jumps back in to life after being left on standby almost instantly. You may need to rely on external storage for your movie collection, but everything else about this laptop makes it worth it. Battery life is a cool five hours or so too.
You can settle for a cheaper laptop, and we wouldn’t blame you if you did. But sometimes quality is worth laying out a bit more for and this is one of those times.
Verdict
Not just one of the best notebooks around, one of the best laptops full stop.
