The Force is with Angry Birds
It’s the game your iPhone has been waiting for – Angry Birds Star Wars arrives on 8 November.
Rovio, developer of the insanely popular Angry Bird games, has announced it’ll be launching Angry Birds Star Wars on 8 November.
Using the Angry Birds Space gameplay, it will replace the usual array of Angry Birds with Angry Star Wars heroes including Luke, Han, Obi-Wan Kenobi and all your favourite stormtroopers as the pig-replacement bad guys.
Lucasfilm’s President of Licensing and Consumer Products Marketing, Paul Southern had this to say, “They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters, they are characters in their own right.” Although, in all honesty, they really are Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters.
But Rovio hasn’t stopped with the game. Taking a feather out of George Lucas’s cap they’re also going to release a range of branded toys from Hasbro, including Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga and a range of figures. Just in time for Christmas.
