Windows 8 will be the fastest ever
Microsoft hails Windows 8 as the fastest, most energy-efficient version of the OS yet – and has the graphs to prove it!
The fastest, most energy-efficient version of Windows OS yet.
Every version of Windows seems to come with a series of statements from Microsoft telling us how this Windows is faster, easier to use and safer than ever before.
So it’s no surprise that Microsoft is already saying Windows 8 is way quicker than Windows 7 in all kinds of areas on its graph-tastic developers blog.
Due to launch on 26 October, it seems Microsoft is spending this final period of development ensuring the new Windows Metro interface runs as smoothly as possible – up to the full 60 frames per second most modern LCD displays refresh at.
This means there should never be any noticeable slowdown of the interface under normal use.
This magic trick is largely achieved by making full use of Microsoft DirectX 11.1, the 3D system used in Windows (and Xbox 360) to create everything from photo-realistic 3D games to everyday file windows.
Using newly-engineered 3D chips to accelerate very specific tasks with very little power, such as drawing basic shapes and smoothing fonts, Windows 8 will run faster, smoother and use less power – giving you the best PC user experience ever.
