UPnP
Universal Plug and Play permits users to share media between devices. It is regularly used to share data between laptops, printers and wireless networks.
USB
Universal Serial Bus is the standard way of transmitting data between a PC or laptop and an external device, like a hard drive. It’s also how you hook up printers and keyboards.
USB1.1
Universal Serial Bus is a connection port for transferring digital data. Transfer speed of up to 12 Megabits per second.
USB2.0
High-speed 480-Mbps data transfer interface. Approximately 40 times faster than USB1.1 (12 Mbps).
USB3.0
USB 3.0 supports much faster file transfer speeds – but only if both hard drive and your PC or laptop have USB 3.0 compatible ports.
UV Filter
A filter designed to cut UV (ultraviolet) light. Also used as a lens protection filter.
UXGA
Abbreviation for Ultra eXtended Graphics Array. Resolution is 1600 x 1200 pixels. This resolution is a vertical and horizontal expansion of XGA (1024 x 768 pixels).
