How to sign up to flickr
We show you step-by-step how to sign up to cloud-based photo sharing service flickr…
Open your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or Safari) and type http://www.flickr.com into the address bar.
Next to the ‘flickr’ logo on the left you’ll see a Sign Up link. Select it to be taken to a second window where you can either use your existing Facebook or Google login or create a new Yahoo one (Yahoo owns flickr).
You’ll need to come up with a unique user name and a strong, but memorable password. Once you’ve done that click ‘Create New Account’.
You’ll now be asked to enter your first name, last name, address and other details. Once you’ve done all that successfully, flickr will ask you connect to Facebook. If you don’t want to do this yet, click Take me to flickr.
The next thing you see is flickr’s homepage which shows you some of the other images people are sharing. Click on the ‘You’ tab at the top of the browser window and then when the next screen has loaded, click on the Upload Now button.
One of the great features of flickr is that it offers you one terabyte of storage for free – enough room for thousands of your photos. The next screen you see offers to begin uploading them for you. Click on the big ‘Choose photos and videos’ button in the middle of the screen to start.
For heftier uploads you can download a desktop uploader from flickr.
A new window will now open on your Mac or PC. Navigate to your Photos folder (Mac) or Picture Library (Windows), choose the photo you want to upload then click Open.
Congratulations! You’ve just uploaded your first photo to flickr.
